Wisconsin Spice, Inc. services a variety of markets, specializing in the industrial and foodservice arenas. Industrial and foodservice products are marketed using the Wisconsin Spice, Inc. brand name whereas the retail arena is serviced under the Uncle Phil’s brand.
Mustard Solutions
As industrial ingredients, Wisconsin Spice, Inc. offers mustard solutions, including prepared mustard, mustard flour, mustard bran, mustard seed, ground mustard, de-heated ground mustard, and de-oiled mustard flour. All of these products are available using all three mustard varieties: Yellow Mustard Seed (Sinapsis alba), Brown Mustard Seed (Brassica juncea) and Oriental Mustard Seed (Brassica juncea), or any blend of the three. In supplying mustard solutions to the global marketplace, Wisconsin Spice, Inc. offers a variety of packaging options, including fiber drums, totes (wooden, fiber, and plastic), pails (4-gallon and 5-gallon), flexible bag-in-box (3-gallon and 5-gallon), poly-lined bags, Cryovac®, boxes, and more. Spices and Spice Blends
Wisconsin Spice, Inc. also markets spices and spice blends. Wisconsin Spice, Inc. works with customers in developing custom and proprietary blends, packaging in a variety of materials and sizes. Spice blend batches can be produced in a range of 500 to 1500 lbs. Flexibility in the size of packaging and packaging material makes Wisconsin Spice, Inc. the ideal partner in blending spices for your products. Foodservice
To the foodservice arena, Wisconsin Spice, Inc. markets prepared mustards, mustard flour, and spice blends. Wisconsin Spice, Inc. works collaboratively with foodservice partners to identify the ideal product/package combination for the operation at hand. For prepared mustards, packaging options include Cryovac pouches (various sizes), bag-in-box (3-gallon and 5-gallon), rigid packaging (4/1 gallon), and tabletop mustards. For spices and seasoning blends, packaging options include 8 oz., 16 oz., and 64 oz. rigid foodservice containers, heat-sealed poly bags, and bag-in-box. Wisconsin Spice, Inc.’s flexibility in working with foodservice partners is unmatched. There is a willingness to work with partners in new product development and identification of the most cost-efficient product/package mix.
Market Insights
As a leader in the mustard industry, Wisconsin Spice, Inc. shares market insights with every one of its partners. Through “Mustard 101”, in-depth information regarding the mustard seed crop and technical information is provided to partners in efforts to aid product developers and purchasing managers alike. Quarterly crop reports, entitled “The Mustard Report”, provide ongoing information regarding the mustard seed crop, and are designed to facilitate discussion with purchasing managers regarding the mustard seed crop. “The Mustard Report” is designed to provide supplemental information to the mustard seed crop, providing support to annual price fluctuations, and the quality of the mustard seed crop.

Research & Development
R&D and Quality professionals use their knowledge of mustard, spices, spice blends and corresponding technology to capitalize on the product development of safe and quality products per partners’ expectations. Whether the project calls for new product development, duplication, or development to customers’ specifications, there is no project the R&D Team is unwilling to accept and succeed at. The Quality Team complements the R&D Team to ensure that all products manufactured by Wisconsin Spice, Inc. meet requirements for safe and quality food.
Quality & Auditing Protocols
At Wisconsin Spice, Inc. we understand that the ability to consistently manufacture safe, quality products is paramount in establishing a long-term partnership. Every other year the facility is audited by NSF’s Cook & Thurber protocol. Both audit protocols, and corresponding audit scores, prove Wisconsin Spice, Inc. to be a safe, quality manufacturer of mustard solutions, spices, and spice blends. In addition to these two audits, Wisconsin Spice, Inc. works with its partners when customer-specific audits are required. Understanding that the global landscape is changing, Wisconsin Spice, Inc. is striving for GFSI accredited audit recognition by the end of 2012.
